I am going to be doing a little research into venues around town.. to try and find out what the deals are like at the moment.. Last time I looked allot of venues where charging you to put on a gig so they can get punters along to spend money at there bar.  Sometimes they wouldnt even have a decent inhouse P.A and wouldnt pay for promotion.  Im not exactly sure what the case is now but theres got too be quite a range,  Im going to make it my next mission to do the ring around and be making some lists in the resource section from the mega fasc to the  community friendly venues..
But I wana know what you think constitutes a good venue?? Does it matter who owns these spaces? Â Who is profiting from them.. Are they locally owned or multinationals? Maybe its fair they take the bar but should they pay for promotion and a P.A? Â
I thinks its important crankthesteza does some research so we can make some informed desisions and maybe put some pressure on the venues…
